I do like the new look of this website. Handling is good but just on wish or question I have. Can restricted (30 days for xample) user be created and be changed into normal user after dis time?

Is it possible to restrict all of the features? And will a Premium user be automaticly re-newed after 12 months (or after any time)?

Happy i found your softwar and be sure I will buy within next 60 days. Domain is already registered and webspace booked. Sure we will run a successful network with your product!

Best regdars

I like what you have created but am wondering how much I can customize? For instance, can I change ABOUT ME to INTERESTING STUFF or {username}? My site will not be a dating page so can I drop the Lifestyle section? I also do not want the age to be added. Can I drop that? How about the look? Is there an index page prior to what you displayed and can I customize it?

Hey nice to hear that you re working on version 3 and i m pleased that you now work with div layers! I registered on your demo page and tried to upload a songfile but it seems not to work.. filesize is ok type is ok but the script just links me to a white page.. hope you could change the music upload section. i think its one of the biggest weaknesses in the script! Would be great if u could add a multi upload + loading bar for music uploads. And a better overview would be amazing.. Another Feature which should be added is a myspace like Profile style configuration and maybe a better relation section like on http://www.esl.eu! adiotionally a gallery like on http://www.studivz.de (one of the greatest communities in germany) would be a good idea to improof your features.

hope this feedback can help you to make webnetwork 3.0 one of the greatest community scripts on the web!!!

@stefan beugger: you can restrict members without a subscription to only have access to certain pages. For example, if you didn’t want them to have access to create groups but only joining, you could restrict access to the create group page for only paying members. Members can renew their subscriptions at any time.

@Kerry: You can create new profile sections and questions right through the administrative area. You can also define what sections each profile type sees. For example, if you didn’t want the Lifestyles section to show up for the Basic profile type (but you wanted it to show up for Musicians), you could disable that section for Basic profile types only.

@j. möbius: thanks for the kind words. We’ll definitely take a look at the music upload problem. As for the other features, they won’t make it into this release, but those are some great ideas that we’ll certainly consider in the future.

Thanks for your answer. What about trial mebers. If I want to allow peopel to have full access for a limited time (30 days), is it possible that the status will be changed automaticly from premium to basic user if the user dosnt want to upgrade? And if the user will not re-new the premium login, will it be automaticly changed to basic user (after 12 monts for xample)?

Can I offer to place banners on the website and google adds? And sorry for my bad english… but your site is what I was looking for.

Eventcalendar: Should be possible to set a start and end date/time. Specialy if you have a weekend-workshop….

Thanks for your swift response. I am looking forward to this product. I currently have webNetwork and have found I can not delete the birthdate ar age thing. Also I want to ad my own look and have found restrictions. Will I have more control over the over all look or do I have to stay with your template design or can I create my own template in Dreamweaver and incorporate your parts? I was unable to do that in webNetwork. In other words, will everyone that purchases this product have the very same look, feel and design? Thanks.

@stefan beugger: Yes, we do have trial periods. You can set how many free days each new member receives, and what type of membership level. For example, if you wanted to give them a free trial of the “Gold” membership (or whatever you call it in your site), you could specify the number of days, and they’d get that when signing up. After the trial expires (or they stop renewing their subscription), they’re automatically converted to a non-paying member.

You can also put in banner ads or Google Adsense throughout the site. We don’t have it up in the beta demo, but we’ll throw it in there at some point just to show you an idea of how it would look. Thanks for the suggestion about the events, that’s a good one!

@Kerry: The basic information is something that is collected during registration. We can point you in the right direction about how to hide it once 3.0 is available.

You’ll need to work with our template files to integrate your existing design, or at least keep all of our template variables and put those into your template (this method is much harder and more error prone). In 3.0, we have a new theme which we think is easier to work with, since it’s all div’s that you can style with CSS. Also, we’re working on a system that’ll make it even easier to identify which file to modify for a specific part of a page. That probably won’t make it in the first release of 3.0, but definitely shortly after.

Although, I have not fully ecxperimented with the demo site yet, I agree with j. möbius’ comment regarding the music upload. I have the same problem with the videos which is a bug that seems to have been carried over from the previous version (time-out issue).

Also, I was hoping that you would do without the different profiles idea (i.e. musician, filmmaker, etc.), and just let everyone be able to upload music, videos, etc.), especially the music, and eliminate the idea of when clicking on the music genres you get a profile page instead of going to music files directly.

I do not want to sound like a harsh critic, but I really like this script and would like to see it succeed. Overall, I like the new look and feel if the software.

Was browsing on the Beta 3.0 again… Why dont you show a list of all caterories in the Event sector as you do in Groups Home? Looks much better then the droplist and its simple for the user.

Is it possible to insert and link the webClassifieds in the webNetwork software? And can this be restricted to basic user (pay for every ad) and be free of charge for premium user?

@bringslite: The video upload timeout is a server-based setting that’s unrelated to the software. Ours is set relatively low for the demo, but I suppose we could get that increased. What sized video are you trying to upload

Many of our customers utilize the different profile types, since profile types can have different questions asked. You can always delete the other profile types if you’re not using them.

@stefan beugger: It was just a design decision we made at the time. We thought this layout for the event homepage was a more intuitive one.

You can link up webClassifieds/webNetwork together, yes. You can charge users within webClassifieds for posting ads.
