by Alexander · 11 comments

We’ve been working on a new version of webJobs mainly based off of customer requests. In the coming days we’ll share the new features in the upcoming version. We’re very excited about this new release and hope you are too! Thanks to everyone who sent us suggestions for improvements, you’re truly helping webJobs become the best job board software on the market.

Now for a preview of the biggest changes in webJobs 2.0: the layout. We’ve gotten many requests for a better template, so we reworked the entire thing. Take a look below and feel free to give any feedback.

The biggest drawback to the current template is that is uses graphics for almost all the text. That is unnecessary and very difficult to customize. CSS should be used throughout to enable the user to customize to fit their existing or preferred style needs.

Hi Brian,

You’re absolutely right and we couldn’t agree more. We completely overhauled how text was shown and everything is now in regular text and controlled by CSS. Even the tabs you see at the top are CSS based. The only images we’re still using are the ones without text (such as the RSS feed icon).

Thanks for your input!

Good suggestion Abe. We won’t have that feature in this release, but I’ll put it in as a request for the next one.

I just read about the images. Are you serious!? No more graphics for the text? I am at this moment translating all the graphics-texts. Do you suggest to …stop? :)

Francois,

Translating using text rather than images is much faster, so I would recommend stopping the graphic translations if you just started. In the future we’ll be doing everything text based rather than with graphics.

Of course the translation will be faster. :) So, ok, I will wait for WJ 2.0…I already modified about 20 graphics. It is not to bad.

Good work!

Thanks for the fast answer…again. ;)

When will webjobs 2.0 be available – If I purchase the current version will I be have to pay extra for 2.0?

9 Alexander 08.07.07 at 10:27 am

We offer free lifetime upgrades for webJobs, which means this update will be made available free of charge in your account once it is released. All the development has been finished and we’re just in the final stages of testing and packaging. webJobs v2.0 will be released very soon.

Should you need one or two people not involved in the development process to test – I am sure my son and I would be quite happy to assist.

No doubt we will get through it thoroughly.
