webJobs 2.0 Preview (Part 8 of 10): Contact Form

August 7, 2007 · 2 comments

The Contact Us link in previous versions of webJobs simply linked to the administrator’s e-mail. Unfortunately, spammers constantly spider web sites for new e-mails and this increased the amount of spam some clients received. We added a contact form in webJobs v2.0 to help reduce some of the spam you get.

This is a good idea.

But it lets the door opened for stupid anonymous emails. In my case, I will modify, I will add something to this page. I will make appear the sender’s IP adress. Just after ‘Contact us and before ‘Your name’ I will show the sender’s IP. Something like: Your IP adress is : yy.zzz.yy.zzz. With that, I will reduce the number of non relevant emails. I know we can mask our IP but …not everybody knows how to do it.

Can’t wait to see part number 9, part number 10 and then….I suppose….Welcome WJ 2.0! :)
