webNetwork 2.0 Preview (Part 1 of 10): Address Book Importers

by Alexander · 8 comments

The social networking industry has changed drastically in the last year, and to follow some of the newest trends, we are going to be releasing a new version of webNetwork very soon. Thanks to all who have submitted their suggestions, we could not have done this without you!

One of the biggest problems our customers seem to be facing is starting their social networking site and getting members to join. To help you in the process, we’re releasing a new feature which allows your members to automatically invite everyone from their email address book. This is going to be compatible with the major email providers: Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL, MSN, and GMail. Your members will be able to invite their friends to join your site with the click of button. All they need to do is enter their email address and password for the email provider, and webNetwork will retrieve their entire address book. After that, your members can send an invite to everyone in their address book, or select specific people. This should be a big help in getting a jump start to building you member base, and we hope you like the feature!

I am happy to see you are working on up-dating the program. I like the program very much and will look forward to the new up-dates. I would like to see it changed so it is more easier adjusted to a different type of a social group. for instance, truckers instead of movie makers or musicians. But I see you are working on this and I think you will do a great job. Thank you

The invite feature is a great addition. I am excited about its implementation.

I can not wait until I tell my friends about it.

Thanks

Do anybody have an idea when this changes will take place, so that we can all download the new features. Cheers,
Glory

@Marshall: Thanks for the kind words!

@glory: We’re still putting all of the new features together and need to do some final testing, so we don’t have a firm date yet. It should be in the near future, and we are actively working on the new release.

It’s a good news! I hope the feature is integrated in ’sign up’ procedure and pull the addresses and mark them so that they are ready to be invited by one more click like in facebook.

are you also allow linkedin.com user to do the same?

Yes, I have the same question as Colin – will this feature also allow us to invite our linkedin contacts?
