We’re excited to announce the release of webJobs v2.0!
We’ve been listening to your requests since the last release and nearly every feature we implemented was requested by an existing customer. A full list of features and bug fixes can be found below. For upgrade instruction refer to the Upgrading section of the documentation. You can download the upgrade files from the customers area.
New Features
Bug Fixes
- Fixed bug in add jobs from the admin area which would sometimes redirect you to the home page
- Fixed job agent bug where users would sometimes be incorrectly e-mailed of new available jobs
- Admin wasn’t getting e-mails notifying him/her that a new job was posted
Some employers want to purchase both job postings and resume views in one order. In previous versions of webJobs it was only possible to purchase either job postings or resume views, but not both at the same time. With our new billing combinations feature you can create billing items in the administrative area that are a hybrid of both job postings and resume views.

These new billing items will then show up on the employer’s home page for purchase.

Previous versions of webJobs allowed job seekers to upload resumes in text format only. This required job seekers who wrote up their cover letters in Microsoft Word to copy and paste the content and reformat it for webJobs. In webJobs v2.0 it’s now possible to upload a cover letter in Word or PDF format, just like resumes.

The Contact Us link in previous versions of webJobs simply linked to the administrator’s e-mail. Unfortunately, spammers constantly spider web sites for new e-mails and this increased the amount of spam some clients received. We added a contact form in webJobs v2.0 to help reduce some of the spam you get.

In webJobs v1.2 job search results were sorted from oldest to newest. Customers wanted to search several different ways and now you can. In webJobs v2.0 you can now sort search results by
- Newest posted first
- Oldest posted first
- Job title
- Company name
This selection can be made from a dropdown in the Search Settings section of the administrative area.

Many customers want to make their own custom pages that are already integrated into the webJobs layout. Previously, you had to manually create a PHP and HTML file to do this, but not anymore. We’ve built a feature right into the administrative area where you can simply name the new page you’d like to create and webJobs takes care of creating the files for you.
Under the Customize Pages section you’ll now see a box like this at the top of the page:

Once added, it’ll show up in your list of pages available for editing.

You can edit the HTML of the page

or the PHP code.

In webJobs v1.2 the site owner could create a user account (both employer and job seeker) from the frontend. This was a bit cumbersome and some customers requested the ability to create these types of accounts right from the administrative area.
In webJobs v2.0 this is now easily possible right from the Member Manager. Simply click the type of account you’re looking to create and fill out all the required information!

This feature won’t be for everyone, but we’ve had a lot of requests from both potential and existing customers for the ability to charge job seekers. In obs v2.0 you’ll be able to force job seekers to purchase a subscription before being able to post resumes.
In the billing section of the administrative you will now have a new option called “Resume posting subscription”.

If such a billing plan exists, your job seekers will be prompted to pay before posting their resume. The purchase process is very similar to what we already have for employers.
