Authorize.net

The Authorize.net plugin comes standard as part of the base webClassifieds package. For more information on Authorize.net and their services visit http://www.authorize.net. You must have an Authorize.net account to use the plugin. webClassifieds uses Authorize.net's Simple Integration Method (SIM) to process the payments. The actual payment takes place on Authorize.net's secure servers, so you do not need your own SSL certificate.  
 
Before you can configure the Authorize.net plugin settings, you must first configure some settings in your actual Authorize.net account. You must obtain a transaction key from Authorize.net in order to process payments securely.

Log into your Authorize.net account at https://secure.authorize.net.

Click the Settings and Profile link on the left menu.

Under the Security section find and click the Obtain Transaction Key link.

Enter a value for Secret Answer and check the Disable Old Transaction Key checkbox.

Click Submit.

 
 
You will be taken to a page which gives you the transaction key. Copy (CTRL+C) the Tansaction Key onto your clipboard. We will need it to configure the Authorize.net plugin in webClassifieds.  
 
The plugin is located under the Payment Gateways section of the administrative area.

Log into the administrative area.

Click the Payment Gateways link under Plugins.

Click the Authorize.net link.


 
 
Complete the entire form and click Save when you are finished.  
 
Enable Authorize.net Gateway?  
If you want your members to use Authorize.net to make payments to you check this checkbox. If you are not ready to accept payments through Authorize.net, leave this value unchecked. If left unchecked, the option will not appear to the customer when he/she tries to make a payment.  
 
Your Authorize.net ID  
Enter your Authorize.net username. This is the same username that you use to log into your Authorize.net account.  
 
Your Authorize.net Transaction Key  
This is obtained by following the procedure above. Copy and paste the key you obtained from Authorize.net into this field.  
 
Transaction currency  
Enter the currency you would like to accept (USD, EUR, etc.). Note that your Authorize.net account must support the currency type you enter.  
 
Enable 'Demo Mode'  
Demo mode allows you to run transactions without actually charging credit cards. This is good for testing purposes to make sure all of your settings were set right. You should not have this value checked once you are ready to go live with the site since your users would not be charged.
