Connecting to Your Web Server

| Once SmartFTP is running you must connect to your web server. At the top of the window there are five fields: Address, Login, Password, Port, and Anonymous.

| Address
|
| Enter the host (FTP) address to your web server. If you are not sure what this is, ask your hosting company for the information.
|

|
| Login
|
| Enter your FTP username. If you are not sure what this is, ask your hosting company for the information.
|

|
| Password
|
| Enter your FTP password. If you are not sure what this is, ask your hosting company for the information.
|
|
|
| Port
|
| Leave the port as 21 unless otherwise instructed by your web host.
|
|
|
| Anonymous
|
| Leave the checkbox unchecked.
|
|
|
|
|
|
| If all the information was entered correctly you will be connected to the FTP server. A list of files and folders will appear below the login menu.
