Create Listing

| Create Listing allows the administrator the create a listing as a user without logging into that user's account from the frontend. The creation process is very similar to the process on the frontend. The Create Listing section is a multi-page process which takes the administrator through all the necessary steps to create a new listing.

| Begin by first choosing the user that you would like to post the listings as. From the Choose a User dropdown select the desired username and click Continue. After you are finished with the creation process the new listing will be added to the selected user's account.

| You will be taken to a new page where you must choose a the category in which to post the ad in. Choose a category and continue choosing subcategories until you are brought to a form where you can enter the relevant listing information. Listings can only be added to the "lowest" level category.

Example |
Assume there is an Automobiles category which has the subcategories: Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles. The Cars, Trucks, and Motorcycles categories do not have any subcatgories. A listing can only be posted in the Cars, Trucks, or Motorcycles categories because they do not have any subcategories. A listing cannot be posted in just the Automobiles category (without choosing a subcategory).

| The listing creation form will appear once you have chosen a category. We will cover the fields that are built in with webClassifieds. The listing you are creating may have more/other fields since the category can have custom fields.

| User
|
| The username of the user under which the listing is being created.
|
|
|
| Category
|
| The category in which the listing will be made.
|
|
|
| Status
|
| The status of the listing you would like to create. Only Approved status will make the listing appear on the site immediately.
|
|
|
| Headline
|
| The title of the listing.
|
|
|
| Contact Information
|
| If you allow contact information to be entered, this section will appear. You can check up to three contact methods to be shown on the site: e-mail, home phone, work phone, and cell phone.

|
| Description
|
| A detailed description of the listing.
|
|
|
| Images
|
| Photos can be uploaded for each listing for visitors to view. Depending on the billing plan assigned to the category, there may be a price under the photo. The price under the photo will be added to the total cost of the listing.

| New photos can be uploaded to the listing by clicking the Browse... button and locating the photo on the hard drive. Click the Upload Image image to upload the file once you have located it. Photos can be uploaded as long as there are empty sections available. A photo is marked as empty with the following image:

| Images can also be deleted once they have been uploaded. Simply click the Remove link under the photo that you would like to remove.
|

|
| The first photo you upload will be marked the Primary Photo. The Primary Photo is the thumbnail that will be used in the search results or anywhere else the system needs to show a single thumbnail of the listing. To select a different Primary Photo simply select the photo you would like to be the Primary Photo using the radio box.

| Photos are uploaded in the first available position from left to right, up to down. Suppose you have uploaded three photo (all in the top row). If you remove the second photo (the one in the middle) and upload a new photo, it will be placed in the second position. The positions are as follows:

| Duration
|
| Choose the length of time you would like the ad to be listed on the site for.

| Add-Ons
|
| Listing enhancements can be added to the listing to make it stand out from others. The following enhancements are possible:

| · | Bold - Bold the headline in the search/browse results
|
|
|
| · | Highlight - Highlights the listing in the search/browse results.
|
|
|
| · | Gallery - Shows the primary photo thumbnail next to the listing headline/description.
|
|
|
| · | Featured - Allows the member to have their ad be added to the random rotation of ads visible from the homepage of your site.

|
| Eye Catcher
|
| An Eye Catcher is a small image that is displayed next to the headline title in the search/browse results. It is meant to grab the visitor's attention and increase the likelihood of someone looking at a listing. The list of available Eye Catchers depends on the available Eye Catchers set in the billing plan assigned to the category that the listing is being posted in.

| Click Continue once you are done. If there were no errors you will be taken to the Search Listings page.
