Custom Fields
Previous Top Next |
| Custom Fields allow the administrator to create new fields that the user can see when viewing and posting ads. These fields are specific to a category and every category can have its own separate unrelated custom fields if desired.
Example |
You may want the Automobiles category to have a custom field called Engine Size. You would not, however, want the Books category to have such a field.
| webClassifieds structures custom fields in the most flexible way possible. If you create a custom field it will be "inherited" by all the subcategories. That is, a field created for a specific category will also be included on the post ad/view ad pages for all the subcategories of that category
Example |
If you create a Make field for the Automobiles category, the subcategories Cars and Trucks will inherit this field. Additionally, the subcategories of Cars (Sedans, Coupes, and Wagons) will all also inherit this field. That means you don't have to create a custom field for all subcategories. Instead, you simply need to create a category at the appropriate level and all subcategories will inherit it.
