Disabling/Enabling Categories
Previous Top Next |
| Disabling a category causes it not to be shown anywhere on the frontend. When a user posts an ad only the enabled (active) categories will be listed as options to choose from. Any subcategories of a disabled category are also automatically disabled by the software. Any custom fields that the category or its subcategories have will also be disabled (more information on this in the Custom Fields chapter).
Example |
Assume there is an Automobiles category that has the subcategories Cars, Trucks, and Vans. All three subcategories will be disabled if the Automobiles category is disabled.
| A category whose parent is disabled cannot be enabled until the parent is also enabled.
Example |
Assume that the Automobiles category is again disabled, along with its three subcategories. The Cars category cannot be enabled until its parent, Automobiles, is also enabled.
