| The General Settings section allows the administrator to configure a variety of different settings that affect the frontend of the site. Each field and its function is described below. After you have finished making changes click the Save for the changes to take effect.

| Title of your website
|
| Enter the title of your web site (e.x. My Classifieds Site). This value will be displayed in the title bar of the browser.

| URL to website
|
| Enter the URL where webClassifieds is installed. The URL must end with a trailing slash (/).

| Censor words in the censored words list?
|
| The words entered in the censored words list will be censored throughout the site if you check this checkbox. Each character of every censored word will be replaced by the value entered in the Censored Words Character field.

| Censored Words Character
|
| If a censored words appears on the web site it will be replaced by the character entered in this field. For example, if you enter "*", each character of every censored word will be replaced by a *.

| Balance time limit
|
| The Balance Time Limit is the number of days that a member can have a positive balance on your site. For example, assume the Balance Time Limit is set to 5. If a member has no balance and post an ad that costs $2.50 to list, he will be allowed to have a balance of $2.50 for up to 5 days. After 5 days he will be required to pay the balance.

| Balance notification time
|
| The Balance Notification Time is the number of days prior to a member's balance being due that an email reminder will be sent. This should be less than the Balance Time Limit.

| Number of search results per page
|
| When a search is performed there are normally multiple pages of search results. This setting controls the number of results that are listed on a single page.

| Show quicksearch bar on all pages
|
| The quicksearch bar is the combination of the input box and category dropdown that are normally displayed at the top of every page. If you do not want the quicksearch bar to be shown on every page, leave this checkbox unchecked.

| Use HTML email templates?
|
| If you check this checkbox all the e-mails that are sent by the system will be sent in HTML format. If this checkbox is left unchecked your e-mail templates will be stripped of all HTML code and sent in plain text.

| Max number of Tell A Friend emails per member per day
|
| To prevent spamming or other abuse, the number of tell a friend e-mail can be limited for each user. The value entered here will be the maximum number of e-mails that are sent by the system for a specific user per day.
|
|
|
| Queued email limit
|
| This is an advanced setting that should normally not be changed. Each time any page loads the system checks to see if there are any e-mails that need to be sent out from the mass mail feature. If you are having trouble with e-mails being delivered because the server is timing out of overload, decrease this number.
