Ordering Custom Fields

The order in which custom fields appear on the post and view ad pages can be customized through the administrative area. It is important to understand how webClassifieds orders fields on the post and view ad pages. The system orders the custom fields in heirarchial order based on their level. That is, the categories located in the higher levels always appear before fields in a lower level category. The fields within the same level category can be reordered by the administrator (covered below).

Example

Suppose you have a category called Automobiles and it has a subcategory called Vans. Automobiles has two custom fields called Year and Make. Vans has a custom field called Number of Seats. The fields Year and Make will always be shown above the field Number of Seats.

1 Locate the category under which the fields you wish to reorder are located. 2 Click the Move Up or Move Down icon, located to the right of the field name.

The changes to the field order will be made instantly and will viewable on the frontend immediately.
