Once SmartFTP is running you must connect to your web server. At the top of the window there are five fields: Address, Login, Password, Port, and Anonymous.
Address
Enter the host (FTP) address to your web server. If you are not sure what this is, ask your hosting company for the information.
Login
Enter your FTP username. If you are not sure what this is, ask your hosting company for the information.
Password
Enter your FTP password. If you are not sure what this is, ask your hosting company for the information.
Port
Leave the port as 21 unless otherwise instructed by your web host.
Anonymous
Leave the checkbox unchecked.

Once you have entered values for the fields above click the Connect button. |
If all the information was entered correctly you will be connected to the FTP server. A list of files and folders will appear below the login menu.
