The Installation Wizard for the Forum plugin takes you through the process of loading the Forum plugin to your site. The purpose of the Installation Wizard is to eliminate any manual editing of configuration files or executing of MySQL queries.
To begin the Installation Wizard go to http://www.yoursite.com/install.php. Replace yoursite.com with your actual site address.
If you did not set permissions on certain files an error will appear notifying you which files you need to set the permissions on. You must set the proper file permissions before continuing with the installation process.
Check the Plugin "forum" box and click Continue.
The following form will be displayed. Fill out the path to the phpBB2 directory, then click Continue to continue the installation.
After you have filled out the form, you have finished the initial installation. The following box will be shown on the screen:
If you have members signed up on your site already, it should say X user(s) were created.
Now it is time to install the forum. point your browser to the phpBB folder, usually http://yoursite.com/phpBB2/
You will not need to change the fields that are already filled out. The database information should be the same as your webDate install information. Click Start Install to install.
Click Finish Installation to continue again. You will be prompted to delete the install/ and contrib/ directories. These are inside your phpBB2 directory.
Once the directories are deleted, the welcome screen will be shown and you are finished. You can read how to configure the forum in the next page.
